We finished the first semester at the University of Jordan the end of January. It had its ups and downs and we decided by the end that we needed to take a semester out and review what we had learned. So, for the past eight weeks we have been working on Arabic and have each been teaching two English classes. They met for two hours two days a week. That was very interesting and enjoyable and the students seem to have enjoyed it as well. We completed our final class last Wednesday night
During this time and continuing on through the end of May we are also taking a certification course in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages). We will have our practicum teaching during the month of May.
Until then we have a few weeks which are very light. We are planning to continue visiting with Milad and his wife in the homes around where we live. We also hope to take a few excursions by bus to outlying cities where we can practice our Arabic, get good video, and get a feel for the Jordan outside of Amman.
