Do not love the world, nor the things in the world. If any one loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. We have found that it is easy to get distracted and caught up in the frantic rush to get everything we think we need. So, we have purposed to begin practicing staying focused on doing what God wants done the way He wants it done by continually, consciously turning our thinking back to His Word and measuring our actions and results by His standard of righteousness. In a word, we are trying to "abide" in Him. In I John we are helped to see that this includes knowing Him, loving Him, walking in the light, practicing righteousness, and loving one another.
That ought to keep us busy for a while. - pwk
