Campout

We are planning to camp at Oxbow Park tonight with some friends. This is at the end of the road on the Sandy River, a short walk out of Gresham.

The Sandy River is one of those examples that testify that evolution's 'Survival of the fittest' doesn't work without man's careful help. Another dam on the Sandy has recently been removed 'to help the salmon' who are not able to help themselves. These weaklings of evolutionary progress who supposedly survived millions of years were doomed to destruction by the presence of a dam on their river. What happened to the ability to adapt and find another river or maybe develop wings to fly over the dam or legs to jump. Rather than helping, destroying the dam will contribute to weakening the species.

However, when one understands salmon are creatures created by God and we humans have been given a mandate to take dominion and supervise and manage the earth, then it becomes clear that we cannot just think about ourselves. We must look at how our actions impact all of God's creatures, as well as the inanimate creation.
